Question most frequently asked: How do I light my pilot light? Click here for pilot lighting instructions & video! http://www.heatnglo.com/customerCare/pilot.asp
Please refer to your User's Information Manual and/or the green/purple plastic Heat-N-Glo card located in the bottom valve area of the fireplace for instructions on how to light the pilot. If neither one are available, please see the following:
First ask yourself these questions: 1. Is gas being supplied to the fireplace? 2. Is there a gas shut-off in the wall (circular chrome plate with a removable shut-off key)? 3. Is it manually opened? (Counter clockwise - key will physically move out as it turns). 4. Is the gas shut-off in the bottom of the fireplace open? (Red shut-off lever should be parallel to gas piping). 5. Is piezo sparker creating a spark at the pilot hood? (Press red piezo button in the bottom of the fireplace and VERIFY a spark at the pilot hood each time the red button is pushed).
If you have answered Yes to the above questions, please follow these simple steps to light your pilot.
1. Turn ON/OFF rocker switch in the bottom of the fireplace to the OFF position. Turn the wall switch or remote control to the OFF position. 2. Locate ON-PILOT-OFF control knob on valve in the bottom of the fireplace and rotate to the PILOT position. Indicator arrow position is beneath the control knob at the 6 o'clock position. 3. Push control knob in and hold it in. Immediately and continuously press the red piezo button until the pilot flame lights. This may take approximately 15 minutes if the gas line has not been bled of all air. 4. Once pilot lights, continue to hold control knob in for approximately one minute. 5. Release control knob and turn to the ON position (counter clockwise). 6. To light burner, flip ON/OFF switch in bottom of fireplace to ON. If a wall switch or remote control is used, the ON/OFF switch in the bottom of the fireplace MUST be in the OFF position. Turn the wall switch or the remote control to ON to light the burner.
